About
Hello! My name is Grant, and I'm the creator of Sound Solver. I'm a proud audiophile, engineer, husband, and dog dad living in Birmingham, AL.
I've been a music lover since I was a child. I remember listening to the Top 40 countdown every Saturday with my older brother on 94.1 WZBQ and arguing over which song was going to keep or lose its position from the previous week. My taste in music has evolved and become more eclectic over the years, but one thing that hasn't changed is my interest in audio equipment.
Whether it be the RCA stereo in my childhood bedroom, the custom Infinity system I installed in my first vehicle, or my current "modern hifi" system, I've always enjoyed tinkering with a nice sound system. Once smaller Class D amplifiers started becoming popular, I integrated a DAC from Schitt and a similarly-sized amp from RSL into one of my systems. At first, I simply sat the DAC on top of the amp. However, I knew that each component could benefit from a bit of space for ventilation. There were also speakers on the same desktop as those components, so I wanted to find a rack that had some soft vibration isolation feet. I also didn't like the spaghetti-like mess of cables and wires draped behind each component.
What I found while searching online was, unfortunately, flimsy and low quality racks with virtually none of those features. So, I designed a small, expandable rack for my desk with thick acrylic shelves, a cable management comb, soft hemispherical silicone isolation feet, strong 3D-printed brackets, and large stainless steel hardware. I liked the appearance and function of the rack so much that I immediately thought others might have an interest in it for their systems as well. My wife helped me out with a logo, and Sound Solver was officially born!
I am excited to share this desktop rack with you now, and soon, several other products that are currently in development. Feel free to send me a message if you have any suggestions or ideas for future Sound Solver products, or even if you just want to chat with a fellow audiophile. I hope you will be able to find some solutions or ideas for improving your own system here, and remember...
